Students were invited to AMSP’s Regional Maths Picnic, hosted by Idsall School, Shifnal. This meant taking a selection of our Year 9 students, put into teams of three, to compete against other teams from around the local area, being immersed in mathematical problems and abstract thinking!

Along with the puzzle and competitions, they were also given ideas of future pathways post GCSE that involve maths at some level, so it was a very beneficial day all round. All our students represented the school brilliantly, I was very proud of how they conducted themselves through the event, with members of staff from Idsall commenting on how well they conducted themselves.

A big thank you to Harry Thompson and Maggie Purcell in Year 11 for coming and being Priory Representatives, and thank you for helping with marking and organising on the day. Year 9 Students involved were: Alexander Dearlove-Cruz, Claire Ward, Hannah Walker, Hugo Hutcheson, Jack Ellis, Joe Bibby, Lucy Bentley, Lucy Nealon, Milly Williams, Nathan Johnson, Poppy Smith, Stefan Floristean.
