At The Priory School, we have a dedicated team of professionals who offer support and advice to students and parents/carers.
Deputy Headteacher Mrs Knight: Mrs Knight is the Designated Safeguarding Lead for the school.
Assistant Headteacher (Student Welfare), Mr Bucknall: Mr Bucknall is the deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead and leads Student Support and the Heads of Houses.
SENDCO, Mrs White: Mrs White is a deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead and leads the team of Teaching Assistants and staff in supporting children with additional needs.
Senior Student Support Officer, Tony Walters: Tony is a deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead and leads the Student Support Team. His particular specialisms are anxiety, safeguarding, anger management, behaviour support and Early Help.
Looked After Children Coordinator/Pupil Premium Champion, Liz Tinsley: Liz is a deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead and focuses specifically on supporting looked after children and families where children are in receipt of Pupil Premium funding.
Pupil Premium Mentor/Mental Health Champion, Lizzie Robey: Lizzie is a deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead and focuses particularly on families where children are in receipt of Pupil Premium funding and students with anxiety or mental health needs.
School Counsellors, Elaine McGrath and Jade Taylor: Jade and Elaine each work two days a week at the school and offer independent counselling services for students. Whilst they liaise with the Student Support Team, they are independent to the school and students’ appointments are confidential unless a safeguarding matter arises.
SMASHLIFE Mentor, Matt Smith: Matt jointly runs a mentoring service for young people having previously worked for the Local Authority to support young people and families. He works in the school one day per week to support young people with a range of issues.
SPECTRA Autism support, Val Jones: Val works with a number of students with ASD or ASD tendencies, both individually and in small group sessions.
Educational Psychologist, Bryony Almond: The school engages Bryony’s services as required to assess students where significant barriers to learning occur.
