The U13 Girls Rugby went to the Shrewsbury Schools Girls Sevens Tournament at London Road, hosted by Shrewsbury VI Form College.

In blazing sunshine, the girls played some really good seven–a–side rugby, adapting well to the hard ground and seeing off the challenges of strong teams from Sir John Talbot, Belvidere and a guest team representing Shrewsbury Academy.

Priory  35   vs  7  Barbarians (Guest team)

Priory  37  vs    7  Belvidere

Priory  42  vs    0  Sir John Talbot

The nature of sevens means that it only takes one missed tackle for the opposition to score, so although all three matches were won, the scores did not reflect the close nature of all of the games. All four teams displayed a super standard of skill and commitment and truly reflected the core values of the game. No better demonstrated than afterwards when all teams gathered for a tournament photo.

Thanks to the students of the Shrewsbury Colleges Level 3 Rugby & Education course that organised & officiated throughout the afternoon.

Well done to Frances Tozer, Billie Thornton, Abbi Evans, Milly Sharp, Bella Brindle, Liv Jinman. Libby Kayiatou and Alicia Blower.
