Safer Neighbourhood Team visit

Safer Neighbourhood Team visit
posted 24 Jan 2019

Bicycles are one of the most targeted items by thieves, according to police. We were fortunate to have West Mercia Police's Safer Neighbourhood Team visit the school and security mark 120 bikes.

Free bike lights were handed out to students to make cycling safer after dark.

The neighbourhood team issued the following advice for bike owners:

1: Record a full description of the bike to include make, model, serial number, marks features and accessories. Take pictures of the bike.

2: Check to make sure your bike is covered by house contents insurance or for more expensive bikes specific insurance will be required.

3: Create a bike passport and obtain materials to secure your bike at www.bikeregister.com. You can also register the details at www.immobilise.com

4: All bike frames are given a serial number. This is normally located underneath the bike and should be written down or photographed and kept somewhere safe.

The team are also hoping to come back soon so watch this space for information.
