National Poetry Day is all about enjoying, discovering and sharing poetry. In the library we marked National Poetry Day 2017 (Thursday 28 September) with lunchtime drop in sessions all week to create Blackout Poetry. That is, breathing new life into old book pages, newspapers and magazines.
It involves finding a poem within the words and lines on a page and adding illustrations. The results are currently displayed our large library blackboard. The official theme this year was 'freedom' and pupils had a selection of relevant poems to read and share in the library along with a selection of books to enjoy and quotes on our large library screen.
