Healthy Eating Initiatives
posted 17 Feb 2017

The Priory School is teaming up with its catering contractor, Catering Academy, to introduce some exciting healthy eating initiatives for our students.

Kicking this off after half term will be a ‘Free Fruit Friday’ for all our Year 7 students where, on Friday 3rd March, we will be offering each student a free piece of fruit at lunch time.  Details of this will be communicated in tutor time in due course. Part of our ethos is to encourage students to make good choices and this is particularly relevant when thinking about what we eat.

Parents can see what their child is eating in the dining hall by logging onto their ParentPay account. On the homepage you will be able to see a Lunchtime Meal Activity for each day. Simply click on this and you will see a breakdown of expenditure.

The school will also be running a Nutrition & Healthy Eating Course for adults at The Priory School on Tuesday 4th April. Successful completion of this course will result in a Level 2 Award in Healthier Food & Special Diets. As well as covering the principles of a balanced diet and special diets, the course covers weight management and how exercise is an important part of a healthy lifestyle.
