Friday 7th October saw the school hall packed with 45 teams made up from a pleasing mix of students, parents and staff all eager to test their knowledge and raise money for this year’s charities: Severn Hospice, Mind Shropshire, Action for Children and The Shrewsbury Ark.
Despite the crush and some devilish questions (we all know where Pentforth Firth is now!) a great night was had by all. Thanks to the generosity of those taking part and those who donated raffle prizes we raised over £750. The team from the Humanities department won and kindly donated their winnings to the charity to swell the funds. We will be running another quiz evening on February 10th so put the date in your diary….we will be limiting the maximum number of teams to 40 to ensure everyone can hear easily and the questions will be devised in-house to ensure a mix more suitable to students and adults.
Fundraising next half term will focus on Children in Need on November 18th and Christmas Jumper Day in aid of Save the Children on December 13th.
