Charity fundraising has made a good start this term. Not only has money been raised for The Pearl of Africa choir and Macmillan but our non uniform day for Children in Need resulted in a cheque for £813 being posted to the appeal. Our whole year charities this year are Cancer Research, The Severn Hospice and The Dogs Trust and forms have been organising cake sales and other events to raise money for these good causes. On Friday 24th November we held our Autumn Charity Quiz – a good time was had by all with some questions directed at students and some at adults. It was lovely to see such a great mix of students, parents and staff and together we raised another £600 towards our annual total, thank you if you attended or sent a raffle prize . The Spring Quiz is on February 9th so get revising!
We have more fundraising happening this term:
Year 7 will shortly be starting #prioryreads to raise money for both the Library and our charities.
December 13th is when we are holding our Christmas Jumper Day to coincide with student Christmas Dinner - this raises money for Save The children
December 14th sees our first Christmas Market followed by House Music – part of the proceeds from both these events will add to our total.
In addition students are currently bring in contributions for their form’s reverse advent calendar. Students are collecting items for humans and dogs…Boxes full of goodies will be donated to the Shrewsbury Ark and Hillbrae Dog Rescue Centre so please remember to send a contribution before Thursday 14th December.
Thank you to everyone who has helped with any of our efforts so far
